Casinò di Venezia

The world's oldest gambling house

★ 4.7 Est. 1638 Casinò di Venezia

Housed in the Ca' Vendramin Calergi palazzo on the Grand Canal — where Wagner spent his final days — the Casinò di Venezia has continuously dealt cards since the Republic.

The palazzo's frescoed rooms are worth seeing even for visitors who don't play; a small museum on Wagner occupies part of the building.

Arrive by water taxi or vaporetto — there is no vehicle access to this stretch of the Grand Canal.
