River Oak Labs ("we", "us", "our") publishes riveroaklabs.com, an independent editorial guide to land-based casinos, casino hotels and poker rooms. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors, why, and the choices available to you. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
riveroaklabs.com is published by Absolute Entry Systems Inc., 4760 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Berkeley Lake, GA 30071-1547, United States. You can reach us at [email protected] for any privacy query.
Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically logs standard information for security and performance: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and timestamps.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies/local storage to remember your cookie choice. With your consent, given through the banner shown on your first visit, we may also use analytics cookies (to understand which pages are useful) and advertising cookies (to measure the performance of our Google Ads campaigns and, where enabled, for remarketing). See our Cookie Policy for the full list and how to change your choice at any time.
Information you give us. If you email our editorial team, we hold your email address and message only for as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the correspondence. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we hold your email address for as long as you remain subscribed, solely to send you the updates you signed up for; you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by contacting us.
We do not operate user accounts, do not process payments, and do not collect information in connection with any bet, wager or gambling transaction — River Oak Labs does not offer, facilitate or accept gambling of any kind.
Where you consent to analytics or advertising cookies, limited technical data (such as your IP address and interactions with our pages) is shared with Google as our analytics/advertising provider, acting as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. If you subscribe to our newsletter, the email address you enter is submitted directly to our inbox ([email protected]) via FormSubmit, a form-processing service acting as our processor solely to deliver the message; see FormSubmit's privacy policy. If you follow a hotel booking link, the destination site (and its booking partner, where the link is an affiliate link) processes your data under its own privacy policy — we never receive your booking or payment details. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share data with online gambling operators or casinos — we carry no affiliate or paid relationship with any gambling business.
Where data is processed by providers outside the UK, we rely on the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum / adequacy regulations or equivalent safeguards required by UK GDPR.
Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes. Analytics data is retained no longer than necessary for the reporting purpose described above. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve your query, unless we are required by law to keep it longer.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent at any time (see "Manage cookie preferences" in the footer of any page). To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have mishandled your data.
This site covers gambling venues and is restricted to adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows the last revision.
If gambling stops being fun, help is available. In the UK contact GamCare or call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 (free, 24/7). Across Europe, national helplines are listed at BeGambleAware.
